The Home Team is a four-piece pop-punk and pop-rock band hailing from Seattle, Washington. Formed in 2013, the band is made up of Brian Butcher on vocals, John Baran on guitar, Ryne Olson on bass, and Daniel Matson on drums. This energetic quartet blends pop-punk, pop, rock and metal influences to create a unique and electrifying sound.

The Home Team’s Journey

Brian Butcher and Daniel Matson originally formed The Home Team after touring in their respective metal bands. In 2015, Butcher, the lead vocalist, auditioned for the band after purchasing their original EP. Being a genuine fan of the band, Butcher was the perfect fit for this new addition. Guitarist John Baran joined in 2013 following the formation of the band.

The Home Team’s sound emerges from a blend of traditional pop-punk and metal. The band introduces stylings of R&B, pop and funk into their music while still crafting a heavy pop sound, as reported by Alternative Press magazine. This creative genuineness has rewarded the band with an extremely dedicated and passionate fan base.

The Home Team’s Music

In early 2014, The Home Team released their EP Black Sheep and began touring consistently, bringing their electrifying live performance along with them. The hard work and dedication to their craft caught the eyes and ears of many fans.

The band signed with Revival Recordings in early 2018 and released their debut label single “Fashion Forward.” When discussing the signing and single, the band told New Noise Magazine, “We spent about a year working on this record, and we’re very proud of it. Fashion Forward is one of our favorite songs off of the record, and we’re so thankful that Revival believes in us as a band.”

Following the signing, The Home Team released several singles including “Ageless,” “She’s Quiet,” and “Since We All Fell Apart.” In July 2018, their debut full-length album Better Off was released.

The Home Team’s newest album Slow Bloom, released in 2022, is available on all digital platforms. Slow Bloom (Deluxe) features new tracks “FOMO (Bored of You)” and “Grievance Pay.” The band shared with Discovered Magazine, “Slow Bloom (Deluxe) is available everywhere now! Beyond the obviously sexual subject matter of the song, Loud is about finding your confidence in giving 110% to things that may be outside of your immediate comfort zone.”

The Home Team’s Future

The Home Team uses unique production to bring their electrifying performance to life, having released immersive albums Better Off and Slow Bloom. This enigmatic band will continue to grow and evolve their music while creating something unlike anything that has come before. The Home Team is gearing up to share their new single “Loud” and embark on a UK tour in December 2023 supporting The Used.

With an extremely dedicated fan base, The Home Team continues to find success and growth with each new release. Fans can look forward to more new music and electrifying performances from this innovative Seattle-based band.
