Formation (2005-2006)

Attack Attack! initially formed as Ambiance in 2005, the band comprised Johnny Franck, Andrew Whiting, Nick White, Andrew Wetzel, and Austin Carlile. They met Caleb Shomo, who joined as the keyboardist, prompting a name change to Attack Attack!. Their first independent EP, “If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?” was recorded and released in 2007, capturing the attention of Rise Records, leading to their signing in the same year.

Early Years (2007-2009)

With their debut studio album “Someday Came Suddenly” released in November 2008, Attack Attack! experienced moderate success. The album featured re-recorded tracks from their EP and debuted at number 193 on the Billboard 200. The band underwent their first significant lineup change during this period, with vocalist Austin Carlile leaving the group and being replaced by Nick Barham.

Membership Changes

Over the years, Attack Attack! saw numerous changes in its lineup. Notably, Johnny Franck left the band in 2010 to focus on his faith, and Caleb Shomo eventually took over lead vocals. Caleb Shomo’s departure in 2012 introduced Phil Druyor as the new vocalist. The band’s final lineup change came with the departure of Andrew Whiting in 2024.

Major Albums and Tours

Attack Attack! released three major studio albums: “Someday Came Suddenly” (2008), a self-titled album (2010), and “This Means War” (2012). Their music and live performances, notably participating in the Warped Tour, contributed significantly to their reputation within the metalcore scene.

Recent Activities (2020-Present)

After disbanding in 2013, Attack Attack! announced their reformation in 2020, releasing new music and undergoing further lineup changes. Their return was marked by new singles and the anticipation of an upcoming EP, indicating an ongoing influence in the music scene.

Conclusion

Throughout their active years, Attack Attack! experienced significant changes in membership and style but maintained a presence in the metalcore and electronicore scenes. Their chronological history highlights the evolution of the band, their music, and their enduring legacy.
